Type - Residential Addition Location - Wilmington, Vermont Status - Completed
The size of the additional program had the potential to overwhelm the size of the existing house. The solution was to create a pool in a subterranean environment tucked into the site and covered over with a living roof. The entire structure was angled from the house to present a garden roof to be viewed from the breakfast corner of the house. The added program included adequate space for the owners to host large gatherings of families and friends. Elements included a changing room with a dress and stall shower, and a generous bar area. A 40 foot long pool with a weir (infinity) edge, slide, spa and waterfall, as well as a shallow water play area with a water fountain for infants within sight of parents.
